Revolutionizing Emission System Maintenance
Unlike typical industry-standard cleaning methods, Ceramex utilizes deionized water to restore components to their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. This process allows filters to operate at OEM specifications.
“By integrating Ceramex’s advanced restoration services into regular maintenance schedules, we help fleet operators prevent unexpected failures, extend the lifespan of emission systems and maintain compliance with EPA Regulations,” says Matt Brady, OEM and Sustainability Manager.
A Multi-Step Approach to DPF and DOC Restoration
One of the most compelling aspects of Ceramex’s service is its impressive 24-hour turnaround. Once a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC)—two key components of the emission system—are received, they are fully restored to OEM specifications and shipped back the next day. This rapid service maximizes uptime, ensuring vehicles return to the road as quickly as possible.
For DPFs, Ceramex’s Xpurge system offers a patented restoration process using deionized water to provide a gentle yet thorough cleaning, minimizing the risk of damaging filter media. Following the cleaning cycle, the patented Vertex imaging inspection identifies potential cracks within the DPF, ensuring the restored filter maintains its internal structural integrity.
The DOC restoration process focuses on reviving the filter’s catalytic efficiency in converting carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. Patented Flex Purge technology, an adaptive cleaning method specifically designed for DOC filters, is utilized. Post-cleaning, the validation stage involves a detailed analysis, providing customers with a clear understanding of their DOC’s performance.
Proactively establishing an appropriate service interval for your fleet can extend the life of your emissions system and avoid costly repairs and unnecessary downtime for your tractors.
Ceramex is also committed to sustainability practices. Ceramex has a dedicated filtration system that effectively removes particulate matter from the water that is removed from the DPF and DOC during the restoration process. Once filtered, the water is disposed of in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specifications and undergoes third-party testing to ensure EPA compliance.
From OEM Partner to Industry Leader
For the first ten years of operation, the company worked directly with OEMs, honing skills and comprehension of the required standards. In the past two years, it has taken this expertise directly to customers, offering OEM-quality restorations at a fraction of the cost of new filters.
Ceramex’s services stand out in the market. A general misunderstanding of the after-treatment system, the steep price of OE replacements, and the scarcity of available parts provide a complex dilemma for end users of fleets with after-treatment systems. Ceramex addresses these challenges by offering affordable solutions and guaranteeing the highest quality restored filters, backed by a one-year, unlimited mileage warranty. Ceramex also supplies OEM-grade clamps and gaskets at competitive aftermarket prices, ensuring a complete solution for diesel after-treatment maintenance needs.

Forward-Thinking Strategies for a Cleaner Future
Ceramex is broadening its expertise by venturing into selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. This advanced tech helps reduce potential harm from nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions by converting them into nitrogen (N2) and water. The company focuses on the distinct catalysts used in these engines, developing restoration and validation processes accordingly.
Ceramex is revamping its workflow and upgrading equipment to eliminate unnecessary handling and ensure smoother operations. These enhancements are expected to boost the company’s growth rate by nearly 50 percent over the next two years.
Ceramex is devoted to helping fleets significantly reduce their cost related to emissions systems with a comprehensive and proactive maintenance program. Our approach focuses on preventative maintenance, reducing the need for costly replacements and minimizing downtime. At Ceramex we prioritize sustainability and efficiency, providing tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each fleet.
Driving Success with an Owner Mindset
A customer-centered focus is the cornerstone of Ceramex’s strategy. As a joint venture with SRC Holdings Inc. and Hexadex LTD, a UK company, it benefits from mentorship and the practices of SRC Holdings’ “Great Game of Business.” The management team educates associates on how the business operates and provides a clear understanding of the company’s financial health. Ceramex’s ultimate goal is to build a team of business-minded owners.
“At Ceramex, there are no employees; every individual is an owner through our employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Our goal is to have people who think, feel and act like owners,” says JT Roberson, Strategic Sales Manager.
